Richie Jordan - President 22DMG
Richard James Jordan is President and Co-chairman at 22DMG. He is also the former managing director of 22DriversRecords, Co-Founder of The 22Drivers Foundation and Co-Founder of Syntheticate.
With a strong background in music spanning over the last 12 years, Richie has been hailed as a talented and versatile individual as well as a valuable leader.
By the time he was 13, Richie had become a seasoned pianist and guitarist, breezing through grading systems and landing himself in contention for multiple local awards. His love for music set him on a long journey deeper into the arts where he mastered music theory and educated himself on music’s vast and complicated history. After conquering piano and guitar, Richie moved on to bass, drums and violin, becoming a talented multi-instrumentalist dubbed ‘The one man band’ by his peers.
It was during his 3rd year at secondary school, where word of Richie’s musical ambitions would reach fellow student Hugo Bates. An immediate connection was made and the two would go on to reach countless musical milestones together, including completing Music GCSEs and the formation of their first band, the infamous 22Drivers.
Despite the undeniably short lifespan of 22Drivers, the impact they made on the local community was second to none. At just 16, Richie and Hugo released two beloved singles under 22Drivers: Little Lies and Never Apart, which would both go on to achieve over 2000 streams each.
Following the conclusion of 22Drivers, Richie continued his passion for music as he began work on his debut solo album. Following a promise to himself to overcome his self-doubt, Richie would go on to release 5 homemade albums along with 22 singles with only the equipment he had to hand in his room. He would later look to Aldi, Sainsbury’s and odd jobs to forge an impressive arsenal of instruments and production equipment. Over his short-lived artist career, Jordan achieved over 160,000 streams across all major streaming platforms, he holds over 230 copyrights and has scored 3 short films.
The years rolled by and Richie found himself facing a hard decision. He had settled his self-doubt with his songwriting ability and had ended up draining his creative reservoirs to the ground. Feeling as though he had nothing left to prove as an artist, Jordan sat down with former bandmate Hugo Bates and the two re-imagined their long-forgotten idea for 22DriversRecords. The pair saw it as the perfect opportunity to continue working on their passion from a slightly different perspective.
During the start-up period, Jordan was forced to take on multiple roles to ensure the survival of the company. Richie took to the streets of Brighton, attending every gig and event possible, meeting and building a strong and reliable network from the ground up. He single-handedly wrote business plan after business plan, pitching them to investors, friends and family which would, eventually, lead to him securing the funding needed to get the project off the ground. From website development to event management, Richie led by example, showcasing his unwavering commitment, sacrificing lectures, friends and his entire net worth in the process. Over the span of the following 6 months, Richie built a team of versatile, resilient and talented individuals who he led, along with Hugo, to their first on-stage success.
Richie’s idea for his future didn’t stop there though, all the work he put into 22DriversRecords was done tediously and strategically with the idea of The 22Drivers Music Group looming constantly over every move he made. From day one, Richie knew that he would one day step down as Managing Director of 22DriversRecords and move on to conquering the industry as President of The 22Drivers Music Group.
Since taking charge at 22DMG, Richie has been responsible for bringing together 22DriversRecords, The 22Drivers Foundation and The Bellcast. He is also currently working valiantly with the incredible 22DMG team to open the door for 4 new and exciting projects: Syntheticate, Sonicscape, Keylez Distribution and SignPost Publishing.
Richie currently is studying in Brighton UK, working towards his degree in Songwriting & Music Production.
